A leading performing arts organization is seeking a stage manager for the production of 'Justice for Maurice Henry Carter' at the Toronto Fringe. Applicants should have experience in musicals, operas, or plays with music and be able to read music. Inclusivity is encouraged, and accessible rehearsal locations will be provided.
Arbez Drama Projects is searching for a stage manager for the upcoming production of Justice for Maurice Henry Carter in the Next Stage Series at the Toronto Fringe. Experience working on musicals, operas, and / or plays with music is an asset. Ability to read music is an asset. The Stage Manager will be engaged under the CAEA Indie 3.0.
Based on a true story, Justice for Maurice Henry Carter is about two men, one Black, one White, who become brothers while fighting to overcome a wrongful conviction. A cappella spirituals, hymns, and gospel music are woven throughout. Cast size is six.
Rehearsals and performances take place in Tkaronto / Toronto, the Traditional Territories of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, and remains home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
We encourage stage managers with disabilities and of all ethnicities, genders, gender-identities and sexual orientations to apply.Rehearsals will take place at accessible locations. The booth where the stage manager calls the show and operates sound is reached by climbing a flight of stairs. Please include any accommodation requests in your submission.
