Job summary

Google's Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role focuses on building and running large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems for Google Cloud. SREs combine software and systems engineering to ensure reliability, uptime, and performance while scaling infrastructure.

The team designs major components, mentors peers, and leads incident response, with a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and growth across diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with programming in Go, Python, or C++.
• 4 years of experience leading projects.
• 3 years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems, and working with administration or networking.

Responsibilities

• Lead designs of major software components, systems, and features to improve availability and scalability.
• Lead sustainable incident response and production improvements with blameless postmortems.
• Provide guidance on availability and performance of mission critical services and automation.
• Mentor and train team members on design techniques and coding standards.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
