Staff Software Engineer – Quality Automation

Equinix is seeking a Staff Software Engineer – Quality Automation to join our Strategic Service Management team. This team is chartered to provide end-to-end observability for infrastructure at IBXs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Quality Automation in Java-based cloud-native applications and Agile-scrum methodology. Responsibilities include operating in a DevOps environment, working with a globally distributed development team, and ensuring high-quality software delivery. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and a customer-focused attitude are essential. The candidate should be curious, results-driven, and a strong team player.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Work with Product Management and stakeholders to develop effective business solutions.
2. Develop test plans, test suites, automate and execute tests on software UI, APIs, microservices, and data platforms.
3. Create, own, and manage test data for end-to-end testing.
4. Execute and certify performance tests.
5. Enhance quality processes, test frameworks, tools, and promote best practices in a CI environment.
6. Drive end-to-end testing of features and certify features for sprints and releases.
7. Set up and manage test environments.
8. Communicate test results and highlight quality risks to stakeholders.
9. Participate in bug triage and review functional test cases with developers.
10. Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and other QA Engineers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's in computer science or equivalent, with 5+ years of hands-on quality automation experience in Java-based cloud-native applications.
• Strong programming foundation including Data Structures, Concurrency, Algorithms, Design Patterns, and Best Practices.
• 4+ years of experience in UI Testing and automation for SaaS applications.
• 4+ years of experience automating tests for RESTful APIs, microservices, and data platforms.
• Experience with Agile-scrum methodology and TDD.
• 4+ years of experience with performance testing.
• Expertise in data modeling and relational design using RDBMS and NoSQL databases like Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, and public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills.
