Job summary

Walt Disney Animation Studios in British Columbia, Canada, seeks an experienced Production Technology engineer to design and implement workflows and state-of-the-art tools for artists and technical directors.

You will lead API design, collaborate with leadership to set architectural vision, and develop core libraries and user interfaces across the studio's shot, environment, and asset pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with C++ (including X11/X14) or equivalent.
• Strong experience with Python or equivalent.
• Strong experience with USD (Universal Scene Description).
• Strong experience with Qt (for desktop development) or equivalent.
• 7+ years experience designing and developing interactive tools, with 3+ years in senior technical roles designing core infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop full stack tools from algorithms to artist-friendly interfaces.
• Collaborate with artists and leadership to design workflows and state-of-the-art solutions.
• Lead architectural design and implementation, with adoption and milestone plans across features and tools.
