Job summary

Netflix Animation Studios in Vancouver is seeking an Associate Technical Supervisor (Back End) to guide and support the production pipeline for an animated feature. You will lead backend technical direction, troubleshoot pipelines, and collaborate with TDs, engineers, and supervisors.

Based in Vancouver, this hybrid role focuses on lighting, rendering, compositing and delivery, with a strong emphasis on tools development, technical oversight, and consistent standards across the studio's pipeline.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of pipeline TD experience in animated features, TV or VFX.
• Strong Python skills with GUI toolkits; basic C++ and USD are a plus.
• Experience with DCCs, production tracking tools, and modern software development practices.
• Ability to review code, troubleshoot, and mentor TDs across teams.

Responsibilities

• Understand visual goals and design tools, workflows, and procedures for artists.
• Troubleshoot and optimize production workflows and develop new tools.
• Test, validate, and roll out pipeline changes; support TDs and artists.
• Lead cross-department collaboration and plan show-specific technical work.
