We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Frontend with strong expertise in React Native to provide technical leadership in developing our UX Toolkit (Web / Native). This is a new focus area, requiring a leader with extensive experience in building cross-platform mobile and web applications from scratch.

The Impact You'll Have

1. Partner with product design and engineering leadership to shape and deliver innovative cardholder experiences across platforms, aligning technical strategy with business goals.
2. Lead the design and development of React Native SDKs and applications, establishing scalable, modular, and consistent architectural patterns.
3. Architect reusable React Native components that follow modern UI/UX, accessibility standards, and internal design systems.
4. Optimize mobile performance through strategies like lazy loading, rendering improvements, and bundle size reduction for fast, responsive experiences.
5. Contribute hands-on to complex front-end systems using React Native, TypeScript, and web technologies, while mentoring engineers and promoting code quality.
6. Define technical roadmaps and create detailed design documents aligned with long-term platform strategies, balancing velocity and maintainability.
7. Lead engineering discussions, guide decision-making, and champion best practices to improve developer velocity and user experience.

Who You Are

• Over 8 years of experience in web and mobile application development, with deep expertise in React Native at scale.
• Mastery of React Native, including React Navigation, Expo, and native modules in Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, and Java.
• Ability to integrate React Native with native iOS and Android features seamlessly.
• Strong understanding of modern state management solutions (Redux, Context API, Zustand) and scaling apps with predictable state flows.
• Experience developing design systems and modular components for large codebases.
• Expertise in mobile performance optimization, including instrumentation, memory profiling, and rendering enhancements.
• Experience integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs with error handling, caching, and offline support.
• Knowledge of secure mobile authentication, OAuth, biometrics, and encrypted storage.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Fastlane, Bitrise, or App Center.
• Proficiency with Git and scalable development workflows.
• Proven leadership in mentoring engineers and driving cross-team mobile strategies.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills for cross-platform reliability and user experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with design, product, and backend teams.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with native development in Swift and/or Kotlin.
• Domain knowledge in Payments or Fintech sectors.
• Familiarity with App Store and Google Play deployment, code signing, release management, A/B testing.
• Experience with TypeScript in React Native projects.
• Knowledge of WebAssembly, PWAs, or alternative cross-platform approaches.
