Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff Software Developer for its Canada remote team to advance autonomous driving simulation tools and Python-based SDKs. You will influence architectural roadmaps and develop scalable graphical editors used widely by engineers.

You’ll lead critical Python infrastructure, build robust APIs, and mentor engineers to elevate code quality, performance, and testing practices across the team. A strong background in 3D graphics or simulation is required.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Python, incl. API/SDK design and performance optimization.
• Strong 3D graphics, geometry, or real-time simulation knowledge.
• Experience mentoring mid-level and senior engineers to raise code quality.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the architectural roadmap for the Simulation Scenario Definition platform and Python SDK.
• Lead design and implementation of next-generation graphical editing tools.
• Advance Python infrastructure for serialization, validation, and cloud integration.
• Mentor engineers and set engineering excellence standards for API design and testing.
