Google is hiring a Staff Software Developer for the Client Stack, Front End and Web Development in Google Cloud. The role is based in Waterloo, Ontario, with potential location options including New York.

You will lead frontend and web development efforts, shaping architecture and delivering scalable software across complex, cross-functional teams. You will guide project priorities, drive design decisions, and mentor engineers while contributing to Google Cloud’s strategic initiatives in

Qualifications

As a Staff Software Developer, you will drive the technical outlook, strategy, and execution for the Chat Client Side Encryption (CSE) initiative. This is a critical, high-impact role responsible for ensuring the successful design, development, and delivery of a secure and robust CSE solution within Google Chat. As the Team Lead, you will navigate complex technical challenges, make key architectural decisions, and provide technical leadership to a team of developers.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Canada: $216000 - $221000 (CAD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
