Position: Staff Services Assistant

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Services Assistant to join our team. This role is primarily responsible for entering and processing payroll following event days, managing pay discrepancies, and updating probationary rate increases. The Staff Services Assistant will support both union and non-union employee groups, ensuring accurate and timely payroll in compliance with company policies and applicable labour agreements
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Accurately enter and process payroll after event days, including timekeeping records, and adjustments.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate with managers and employees to gather missing or corrected information.
- Process probationary rate increases and ensures wage changes are applied according to policy or union agreement.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information.
- Ensure adherence to applicable union contracts, company policies, and employment regulations.
- Work closely with HR, Finance, and department managers to coordinate payroll-related information.
- Provide exceptional support to employees regarding pay-related questions or issues, including tax forms and banking information.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience And Qualifications
- Some post-secondary education is an asset
- Previous experience working in an administrative capacity or office setting
- Experience with databases, preferably with an online scheduling system
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player with a high-level customer service focus, responding to all customers with a professional and “can do” approach
- Knowledge of payroll systems and timesheet processing an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with the ability to multi-task
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs; quick to learn new programs
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong commitment to communicate professionally and positively with staff and fans
- Ability to work independently
- Must be detail-oriented
- Flexible to work shifts during daytime office hours, Monday-Sunday, based on the Rogers Arena event schedule
