Reporting to the Manager, Staff Scheduling, the Staff Scheduling Clerk provides staff scheduling support at all Providence Care locations. The Staff Scheduling Clerk works collaboratively with Program Managers, Staffing Leads, Staff and the Manager, Staff Scheduling & Recruitment. The Staff Scheduling Clerk will ensure adherence to established staff scheduling practices and processes, escalating concerns as needed.
Skills And Qualifications
Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, Medical or Office Administration
Minimum of 1 year of recent clerical experience
Minimum six months’ experience in staffing and/or scheduling in a dynamic environment of persons or events
Equivalent education and experience may be considered
Staff scheduling within a unionized health care environment, preferred
Position Responsibilities
Monitors vacancies to ensure staff complement baselines have been met. Liaises with manager for areas of concern
Provides automated shift calling out support and shares process/practice information with new and existing employees within the department
Completes work in accordance with Collective Agreements, established processes and practices
Identifies concerns or issues to Program Managers/Designate and/or Staff Scheduling Leads as required
Prepares schedules for posting by allocating staff coverage for known vacancies such as: vacation, education leave, extended sick leave, retirements etc. according to established procedures and within parameters of applicable Collective Agreements
Prepares schedules in accordance with Collective Agreements, and established processes and practices
Provides schedules to Staff Scheduling Leads for internal staff scheduling review in accordance with established deadlines
