Job Summary
As the leader of the health care team, provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan of the organization. Remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect.

Nursing Process
- Develops and/or contributes to the individualized plan of care reflecting assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Ensures multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education are included in the plan.
- Adapts the plan based on ongoing patient assessment and progress.
- Discusses and reviews the care plan with patients and families, ensuring understanding and involvement.
- Monitors patient progress and revises the plan as needed.
- Ensures care meets practice standards and includes effective discharge planning and patient education.
- Ensures patient safety, pain management, and comfort, addressing anxieties and concerns.
- Ensures medication understanding and adherence at hospital and discharge.
Documentation
- Charts accurately, legibly, with date and time.
- Reflects nursing interventions, evaluations, and the nursing process.
- Utilizes computer systems effectively for patient care.
Clinical Outcomes
- Discusses patient findings and outcomes with the healthcare team.
- Demonstrates competencies during probation and ongoing validation.
- Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on data interpretation and assessments.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.

Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum six (6) months of recent experience in an acute or sub-acute setting within the last three years.
Education & Licenses
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
- Basic arrhythmia knowledge required.
Notes
- If the 12-hour shift option is chosen, shifts are from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with a backup 8-hour shift from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.
