Job Summary
As the leader of the health care team, provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan of the organization. Remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect.
Essential Responsibilities

- Ensures multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education are integrated into care plans.
- Adapts care plans based on ongoing patient assessments and progress.
- Discusses care plans with patients and families, ensuring understanding and timely completion.
- Monitors patient progress and revises plans as needed.
- Ensures care meets standards of practice and includes effective discharge planning and patient education.
- Ensures patient safety, pain management, and patient comfort are priorities.
- Informs patients about medications, side effects, and administration instructions.
Documentation
- Maintains accurate, legible, and timely charting.
- Reflects nursing interventions and evaluations.
- Uses computer systems effectively for patient care documentation.
Clinical Outcomes
- Discusses patient findings and progress with the healthcare team.
- Demonstrates competencies during probation and ongoing validation.
- Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on data interpretation and patient outcomes.
- Participates in departmental quality improvement activities.

Experience
Minimum six (6) months of experience in an acute or sub-acute facility within the last three (3) years.

- Registered Nurse License (California)
