Shakepay is seeking a Staff Product Designer Who Codes to bridge design, product, and engineering across our Canada-wide remote team. You’ll write front-end code to prototype and ship features, balancing design excellence with production-ready delivery.

Qualifications

• Hybrid experience: shipped real products with design and code ownership (React, Typescript, Node, Vue.js).
• Builder portfolio: live products showing design and build work, with AI-assisted prototyping.
• Strong product sense and deep front-end knowledge of modern web tech.

Responsibilities

• Own problems end-to-end: from understanding to designing the experience, to writing the front-end code and shipping it to users.
• Prototype in code: replace static mockups with functional prototypes to validate ideas quickly with real user feedback.
• Drive design-led development: work in a fixed-time, variable-scope environment; focus on outcomes, partner with backend engineers to deliver impact.
• Ship fast with quality: deliver polished, production-ready experiences on tight timelines with attention to detail in design and code.
• Elevate UI architecture: evolve design system and component libraries to keep design and code in sync across mobile and web.
• Act as a force multiplier: help designers ship in code and integrate AI tools to improve speed and depth across the org.
