Job Summary:

This position supports adult inpatient pharmacy operations for Vanderbilt University Hospital expansion.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review drug orders and prescriptions for safety, appropriateness, and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Provide outstanding patient care by optimizing medication preparation and resolving medication-related issues.
  3. Prepare and dispense medications, provide drug information, and manage medication therapy according to regulations and hospital policy.
  4. Supervise support personnel and verify the accuracy of medications before dispensing.
  5. Additional duties may be assigned.
Technical Capabilities:
  • Proficient in pharmaceutical computer applications supporting medication use processes.
  • Proficiency in drug preparation, dispensing, and distribution, including sterile preparations.
  • Knowledge of medication management, including clinical appropriateness, dosing, and monitoring.
  • Ability to mentor and coach others, sharing knowledge and improving team performance.
