Patient-Focused Care Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist will work to the full scope of practice, enhancing patient health and wellness by administering safe, effective, and responsible drug therapy. Responsibilities include:

  • Determining the appropriateness of drug therapy
  • Monitoring medication therapy for effectiveness, adverse reactions, and interactions
  • Counseling patients on prescriptions, OTC products, and health issues, including indications, contraindications, adverse effects, interactions, and storage
  • Answering patient questions requiring therapeutic knowledge or clinical assessment
  • Providing clinical services as appropriate
  • Administering injections/immunizations as needed
  • Promoting health and wellness through education on disease prevention, lifestyle, and medication adherence
  • Collaborating with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Supervising pharmacy students or provisional pharmacists in restricted activities
  • Adhering to relevant regulations
  • Engaging in continuous professional development
  • Performing other duties as required

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized Canadian institution
