Job summary

Arm Toronto's Design Center seeks a senior design engineer with expertise in micro-architecture, logic design and ARM IPs to join an innovative and inclusive team. You will lead RTL development and integrate PCIe, CXL and other IPs across SoC projects.

You will collaborate with verification, performance, and backend teams, driving timing closure and contributing to design methodologies to enhance project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years designing complex compute subsystems or SoCs.
  • Strong knowledge of digital hardware design and Verilog HDL.
  • Experience developing and integrating subsystems for PCIe, CXL, UCIe, Ethernet.
  • Experience creating design specifications and RTL for SoC projects.
  • Experience in Static design checks, including CDC, RDC, X-Propagation, Linting.
  • Experience with Perl, Python or other scripting language.

Responsibilities

  • Write micro-architecture specifications and develop RTL for SoCs.
  • Fix bugs and run various design checks.
  • Collaborate with verification to review test plans and debug build issues.
  • Partner with performance analysis to evaluate and improve system performance.
  • Work with backend implementation on floor planning, constraints, and timing closure.
  • Contribute to developing design methodologies used by the team.
  • Guide and support team members to enable project completion.
  • Balance activities with Project Management on plans and schedules.

Job description

Are you ready for a new and exciting challenge at Arm Toronto's Design Center? If you are a self-motivated design engineer with expertise in micro-architecture, logic design and ARM IP’s, system protocols and looking to make a difference in an innovative and inclusive team, you’ve come to the right place!

Responsibilities
  • As a creative design engineer with a knowledge of I/O subsystems, SoCs you will be part of a team integrating PCIe, CXL and other IP's for SoCs.
  • Collaborate with the project team to understand and review the architecture and develop the build specifications.
  • Your key responsibilities will include writing micro-architecture specifications, developing the RTL, fixing bugs, and running various design checks.
  • You will collaborate with the verification team to review test plans and help debug build issues.
  • Partner with the performance analysis team to evaluate and improve system performance.
  • You will work with backend implementation team to help with floor planning, writing constraints, and timing closure.
  • You will also contribute to developing and enhancing the design methodologies used by the team.
  • You will guide and support other members of the team as needed to enable the successful completion of project activities.
  • You will balance other opportunities such as working with Project Management on activities, plans, and schedules.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering or a similar related field
  • 10+ years experience working in design of complex compute subsystems or SoCs,
  • Strong knowledge of digital hardware design and Verilog HDL.
  • Thorough understanding and experience of the current design techniques for complex SoC development.
  • Experience developing and integrating subsystems for PCIe, CXL, UCIe, Ethernet
  • Experience creating design specifications and developing RTL for SoC projects and compute platforms
  • Experience in Static design checks, including CDC, RDC, X-Propagation, Linting
  • Experience with Perl, Python or other scripting language
'Nice to Have':
  • Experience with ARM-based designs and/or ARM System Architectures
  • Experience leading small teams or projects
  • Experience or knowledge in the following areas
  • Synthesis and timing analysis
  • Power management techniques

Salary Range:

$159,400-$215,600 per year
