This is a permanent, full-time position of 37 hours per week. The shift pattern is rotational, including days, nights, and 12-hour shifts, with opportunities for 7-hour shifts.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team within Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, specifically within our High Dependency Unit and Rehabilitation Ward. As part of our national spinal injuries team, you will deliver high-quality, clinically effective patient care. The caseload includes acute spinal injuries and care during the rehabilitation phase, offering opportunities to develop your skills within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.
We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 5 registered nurses to join our National Spinal Injuries team. All staff will be supported by our dedicated Educator for Spinal Injuries and will undergo in-house training to achieve competencies in extended roles such as supra-pubic catheterisation, male catheterisation, tracheostomy care, bowel management, and respiratory care for ventilated patients. The unit comprises Edenhall Ward, a 12-bed High Dependency unit, and Philipshill Ward, a 32-bed rehabilitation ward with an integrated high-acuity respiratory care unit.
This unit is part of the pilot for Digital Clinical Notes, offering an innovative digital approach to patient records. The role involves 12-hour shifts with flexibility for 7.5-hour shifts over a 24/7 service, with opportunities to rotate across spinal injuries and other acute specialties to broaden your skills.
