Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

Vacancies

We are offering 4 permanent posts, each working 37 hours per week with a shift pattern covering 24/7 days and nights.

About the Role

Applications are invited from Registered Nurses with general or adult nursing qualifications registered with the NMC to join our dedicated team within the NHS GG&C Intensive Care Unit/High Dependency Unit. These are full-time rotational roles (37 hours) involving 12-hour shifts, including days and nights from Monday to Sunday.

The ICU/HDU cares for patients with conditions ranging from single to multi-organ failure, requiring ventilatory support (invasive or non-invasive), cardiovascular, and renal support. We serve as a tertiary referral unit for Vascular, ENT, and Renal services.

Training and Development

Successful candidates will receive Competency-Based Preceptorship Programme training, and upon completion, will undertake the Critical Care Course accredited by Glasgow Caledonian University.
