We are seeking Ads Targeting ML engineers focused on designing and implementing ML systems to improve targeting products. Projects include building large-scale offline and online retrieval systems to enhance contextual and behavioral targeting.

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer in the Ads Targeting Quality team, you will own and execute our mission to automate targeting and deliver the most relevant audiences to advertisers using ML-driven solutions.

Your Responsibilities :

1. Own end-to-end design and execution of ML-based targeting products such as auto targeting and user lookalikes.
2. Drive research direction and technical roadmap for complex projects, lead daily project execution, and contribute to team vision and strategy.
3. Be a thought leader and collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to develop and prioritize the roadmap based on data and industry research.
4. Research, implement, test, and deploy new model architectures for retrieval using deep learning techniques like GNNs, transformers, two-tower models, and LLMs to improve advertiser outcomes.
5. Mentor junior ML engineers.
6. Own offline and online experimentation of ML models to improve targeting products.
7. Work on large-scale data systems and product integration.
8. Collaborate with stakeholders across research, product, engineering, and marketing teams.

Required Qualifications

1. Tech lead experience in a product ML team, guiding research and technical direction to enhance business outcomes using applied ML.
2. Experience with ads retrieval modeling, ranking, or recommendation systems.
3. Experience with deep learning models for retrieval, such as two-tower architectures, GNNs, transformers, and LLMs.
4. End-to-end experience of training, evaluating, testing, and deploying machine learning models.
5. Experience building ML models with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
6. Experience with large-scale data processing and pipeline orchestration tools like Spark, Dataflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, BigQuery.
7. Experience with nearest-neighbor search systems is a plus.
8. Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across research, product, and infrastructure teams.
9. Knowledge of deep learning, representation learning, or transfer learning is preferred.
10. Previous tech lead experience in a product team is strongly preferred.
