Mozilla is seeking a Staff Operations Engineer to lead the design, reliability, and evolution of hybrid-cloud and workplace infrastructure. This senior role spans teams and sets technical direction, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient systems.

You will combine technical execution with leadership to shape architecture both directly and collaboratively. The role emphasizes domain architecture, complex problem solving, cross-team collaboration, reliability, and automation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure roles.
• Strong experience designing and operating production infrastructure.
• Solid expertise in VMware, Cisco UCS, Application/Network Load balancers, Linux/Unix, networking fundamentals, and data center environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve architecture within a defined infrastructure domain.
• Design and operate scalable, reliable systems across teams and environments.
• Lead complex infrastructure initiatives with hands-on execution.
• Define patterns, standards, and best practices within the domain.
• Collaborate across IT, SRE, Security, and service owners to unify solutions.
• Improve reliability through monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning.
