The Staff Health Physiotherapist and Wellness Specialist is a dual-role position that combines expert clinical physiotherapy services with leadership in staff wellness strategy. This role plays a critical part in fostering a healthy, engaged, and resilient workforce by supporting injury prevention, return-to-work planning, and organization-wide wellness initiatives.

The Staff Health Physiotherapist and Wellness Specialist will deliver evidence-informed physiotherapy services tailored to workplace needs while championing a strategic, data-driven approach to employee well-being. This position directly supports the hospital’s commitment to overall staff health, wellness and safety by applying evidence-based physiotherapy practices and spearheading initiatives aligned with legislation, external governing bodies and wellness programs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution
  • Active registration and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, ideally including experience in occupational health, workplace rehabilitation, or return-to-work coordination
  • Demonstrated experience in wellness program development, implementation, or evaluation is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety legislation, WSIB protocols, and current trends in organizational wellness
  • Familiarity with the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of an interprofessional team
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools for health education and engagement
  • Reliable attendance record
