LVI Associates in Toronto is seeking a technical lead for electrical engineering projects focused on power generation facilities. You will develop engineering solutions to modernize, improve reliability, and support long-term operation of critical energy infrastructure.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, perform power system studies, and deliver design packages using ETAP, SKM, and AutoCAD, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with clients and construction teams.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in power generation, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, utilities, or similar large-scale environments.
• Experience performing power system studies, electrical design calculations, and preparation of construction deliverables.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, protection and control, and power system analysis.
• Nuclear facility experience is advantageous but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and review diagrams, schematics, wiring, interconnection diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Conduct load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, motor starting, battery sizing, and protective relay studies using ETAP, SKM, or similar software.
• Develop equipment specifications and bills of materials for procurement and construction.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements; coordinate with clients and construction teams.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate conditions and support project execution; mentor junior engineers.

This position offers the opportunity to serve as a technical lead on electrical engineering projects focused on power generation facilities, developing engineering solutions that support the modernization, reliability, and long-term operation of critical energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or support multidisciplinary project teams as a technical specialist or project engineer.
• Develop electrical engineering design packages for power generation and industrial facilities.
• Prepare and review:
  • One-line and three-line diagrams
  • Motor control and breaker schematics
  • Wiring and interconnection diagrams
  • Cable sizing calculations and cable schedules
  • Load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, motor starting, battery sizing, and protective relay studies using ETAP, SKM, or similar software
  • Equipment layouts and installation drawings
• Develop equipment specifications and bills of materials for procurement and construction.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, project stakeholders, and construction teams.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions and support project execution.
• Utilize engineering design and document management tools such as AutoCAD, ProjectWise, ETAP, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.

Ideal Background

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience within power generation, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, utilities, or other large-scale infrastructure environments.
• Experience performing power system studies, electrical design calculations, and preparation of construction deliverables.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, protection and control, and power system analysis.
• Prior experience supporting nuclear facilities is advantageous, though candidates with conventional power generation, industrial plant, or utility backgrounds may also be considered.
