Job summary

Stripe in Toronto is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead data pipelines and data platforms powering payments, risk, and product analytics. You’ll mentor engineers, set data engineering standards, and partner with product and go-to-market teams to deliver high-quality data assets.

You’ll work with Iceberg, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Airflow, and AWS to scale pipelines, maintain SLAs, and enable AI-enabled insights across Stripe.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building and operating data systems and leading teams.
• Strong backend language experience (Scala/Java/Go) and SQL proficiency.
• Proven ability to design scalable data pipelines and data warehouses.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical outcomes for a team of data engineers.
• Deliver scalable data pipelines and maintain SLAs.
• Collaborate with product managers to create canonical datasets and data warehouses.
