To possess at least a Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a related field, preferably from a CACREP or an APA accredited program. To have some experience in counseling within an educational setting, college/university preferred. To have credentials as a NC Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor or NC Licensed Clinical Social Worker or equivalent credentials. Full licensure or provisional/associate licensure with anticipated full licensure within two years is acceptable.




























To provide clinical mental health services to students of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.




To provide direct therapeutic and diagnostic counseling and/or education to students having social, emotional and/or academic concerns. To support the CAPS team prevention and intervention work and serve on appropriate university committees. To complete other duties as assigned by the Director of the Counseling and Psychological Services and/or the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. This is a 10-month position.




The primary responsibilities of this job description are listed in order of importance. To provide therapeutic and diagnostic counseling and /or education to students having social, emotional, and/or academic concerns related to mental health. To administer and interpret results of assessment instruments for diagnoses of mental illness. To provide outreach services to the university community. To be present and support student affairs events. To complete other duties as assigned by the Director of the Counseling and Psychological Services and/or the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
