The Staff Counsel, eDiscovery Services, provides review services in dispute and corporate due diligence matters under the supervision of NRF lawyers. The role includes leading a team, coordinating communication between lawyers and review teams, and performing quality control and discovery tasks such as document summaries, issue analysis, chronologies, and privilege logs.

This is a full-time remote position, with flexibility to attend meetings or training at any of our US offices. The Staff Counsel reports to the Senior Manager, Document Review Services in Houston.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review, analyze, and code documents for responsiveness, relevance, confidentiality, issues, and privilege.
  • Participate in review trainings and team meetings.
  • Conduct quality control on document coding and redactions.
  • Coordinate and monitor work of first-level reviewers.
  • Identify, escalate, and track questions and issues with lawyers and support staff.
  • Prepare and edit privilege logs for production.
  • Review contracts and agreements based on specified criteria.

Qualifications and experience
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited institution.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice in Texas or Missouri.
  • Preferred: minimum 3 years of document review experience.
  • Strong knowledge of document review platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Understanding of attorney-client and attorney work product privileges.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to support after-hours, overtime, and weekends as needed.
