Job description

DevOps Engineers on Elastic Path’s Self-Managed Commerce CloudOps team develop and release tools that are directly used by Self-Managed Commerce customers. Team members follow software development practices to design, implement, test, release, support and maintain CI, infrastructure-as code and deployment tooling that our customers rely on to create and operate their custom Self Managed Commerce applications.

Location : This is a remote role based in Canada. Candidates are required to have valid work authorization and be located in Canada to be considered. Elastic Path is a Remote First employer, so you’ll always have the tools to work from wherever you are based.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow and evolve software development practices to design, implement, test, release, support and maintain tools that we ship to third parties
• Lead the design and development of infrastructure-as-code and CI tools used by Self-Managed Commerce customers
• Investigate and resolve issues that customers may encounter with Self-Managed Commerce infrastructure, CI and deployment solutions
• Collaborate with the Self-Managed Commerce application team on DevOps solution design and implementation
• Write and update customer-facing documentation
• Occasionally work directly with customers and partners, via online meeting tools, to investigate and solve customer issues.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation
• Implement and maintain Terraform projects and modules
• Design and update Kubernetes security solutions
• Develop and maintain build tools implemented with Bash and Ansible
• Maintain, update and support existing tools, including test suites
• Maintain and update Jenkins server configuration, Jenkins and GitLab CI pipelines
• Collaborate on and lead the direction of future CI, build and deployment solutions that we implement and provide for Self-Managed Commerce customers

What experience do you need to Be Remarkable in this position?

• A desire to help customers be successful, and a willingness to remotely engage directly with customers
• A thorough understanding of IT fundamentals, including Linux, networking, and TCP / IP
• Experience building, configuring, upgrading and securing Kubernetes clusters
• Knowledge of Jenkins configuration and Pipelines
• Experience creating and supporting complex solutions with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
• Experience resolving complex technical issues across technologies including AWS services, TCP / IP networking, Linux, container orchestration, and CI solutions
• Experience investigating TCP / IP issues with tools like Wireshark, strace, tcpdump
• Experience with Java build and Java application deployment on Tomcat

125,000 - $165,000 a year
