What you’ll do

• Drive data strategy at org level and influence technical designs and roadmaps cross-functionally
• Take ownership of the technical architecture and help define team roadmap
• Work with stakeholders to design solutions that support various data consumers
• Lead the implementation of solutions and provide guidance and mentorship for other team members
• Ensure data compliance requirements are met in all data operations
• Continuously improve overall system performance to achieve better SLO
• Design and implement monitoring solutions for data pipelines and data quality
• Be an expert on the entire data platform stack from infrastructure to data governance
• Set the bars for team to follow best practices and review team MRs
• Manage and oversee deployment activities and provide support when issue escalates
• Build strong relationships with other tech teams as well as analytics teams across all areas of the business. For example: Developers, Product Managers, Merchandisers, Marketers, and Operations Analysts

Skills and Requirements

• BA/BS in math, computer science, engineering or related field
• 6+ yrs of experience in data engineer or architect role
• Deep expertise in data architecture including data lake and warehouse
• Experience with cloud data technologies
• Experience in open source tools such as Airflow, docker, DBT
• Expert level in SQL and query performance tuning
• Experience in large scale data processing
• Working experience with Git
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Solid stakeholder management skills
• Proven team player that will work well in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Experience in retail or ecommerce is a plus
• Strong desire to learn and to push the boundaries of what can be done to better empower our business with data
