Role Summary

The Vancouver team is chartered to develop mobile, software applications and SDKs for Rivian products and composed of developers of all backgrounds with experience in IOS, Android, SDKs, IoT, Bluetooth, and Security... and we are growing!

Responsibilities

1. Design and develop Rivian infotainment applications on Android OS
2. Investigate AOSP codebase for better application performance and integration
3. Create designs pattern and libraries to facilitate application developments
4. Develop sample and demo applications, making use of our technology
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and UI/UX design teams to define application features
6. Identify potential problems and resolve application bottlenecks for performance optimizations
7. Perform code reviews and practice continuous integration and development
8. Write test code to test for quality, robustness, and functional correctness, including edge cases
9. Design and implement subsequent application updates and releases
10. Grow your skills with continual learning, workshops, conferences, and talks

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (MS preferred)
2. Proven Android app developer with 8+ years of experience
3. Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and C++
4. Ability to manage your workload with minimal supervision
5. Proficiency in using Android and Android Jetpack APIs, including knowledge of Android NDK and JNI
6. Knowledge of Android design principles and application interface guidelines
7. Knowledge of Android’s performance and testing framework
8. Familiarity with embedded Android framework services
9. Experience with developing mapping, multi-media, and Bluetooth solutions is a plus
10. Familiarity with push notifications, APIs and cloud messaging
11. Excellent coding and proofreading skills
12. Familiarity with the best in class Software development practices
13. Proficient in code versioning tools including Git, Bitbucket and others
14. Experience with continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins
15. Familiarity with Agile Scrum practices
16. Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to collaboratively work with and influence cross-functional teams
17. Top-notch teamwork and communication skills

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for British Columbia Based Applicants: 137,000 CAD - 170,000 CAD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust supplementary medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance for employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers all of the premiums.
