You Are:

An experienced and innovative Analog Design Engineer with a passion for developing cutting-edge high-speed analog integrated circuits (ICs). You are adept at working independently to solve complex design challenges and have a proven track record of guiding projects and mentoring junior engineers. Your expertise spans various SERDES sub-circuits, and you are well-versed in the latest process nodes and design tools. Your exceptional communication skills enable you to effectively present and review designs both internally and externally.

Your background includes a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with several years of practical experience in analog IC design. Your familiarity with transistor-level circuit design, custom digital design, and design for reliability makes you an invaluable asset to any team. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to the continuous improvement of design and verification strategies.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Reviewing SERDES standards to develop novel transceiver architectures and sub-block specifications.
  • Investigating and developing circuit architectures that address architectural bottlenecks and achieve significant improvements in power, area, and performance.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline design and verification strategies, ensuring overall design quality and performance.
  • Overseeing physical layout to minimize parasitic effects, device stress, and process variation.
  • Presenting and reviewing simulation data with internal project teams and external stakeholders at industry panels or customer reviews.
  • Documenting design features and test plans, consulting on the electrical characterization of SERDES IP products, and proposing solutions for post-silicon design updates.

What You’ll Need:
  • Ph.D., M.Sc., or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with relevant experience.
  • In-depth familiarity with transistor-level circuit design and CMOS design fundamentals.
  • Detailed design experience with various SERDES sub-circuits, including receive equalizers, voltage/current-mode drivers, serializers, deserializers, and more.
  • Experience with custom digital design and optimizing analog/digital interactions.
  • Understanding of design for reliability and layout effects, as well as ESD issues.
  • Proficiency with tools for schematic entry, physical layout, and design verification.
  • Knowledge of SPICE simulators and simulation methods.
  • Familiarity with Verilog-A for analog behavioral modeling and scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, C, Python, and MATLAB.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
