Job summary

Affirm is seeking a seasoned security engineer to design, evaluate, and maintain security architecture for AI/LLM-based systems. You will lead enterprise AI security reviews, threat modeling, and the implementation of guardrails and policy-as-code to enable safe AI adoption across the org.

The role requires hands-on experience with IAM, cloud services, and security tooling, and involves cross-functional collaboration with security, legal, privacy, compliance, IT, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Seasoned security engineer with hands-on experience designing security architecture for AI/LLM-based systems.
• Experience threat modeling and reviewing AI/LLM applications and securing agentic systems and tool-calling frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve affirm's enterprise AI security review process across architecture and data flows.
• Threat model AI/LLM-based systems and data flows for risks and drive remediation.
• Review source code, prompts, configurations, and tool/permission manifests; help build security-focused test cases.
