Job summary

MGMA Capital Holding Limited is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant specializing in Financial Reporting to join our team in Halifax. You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, assist in consolidations for MGMA Capital Holding Limited and its subsidiaries, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of reporting.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information to stakeholders at all levels.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant specializing in Financial Reporting to

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements for MGMA Capital Holding Limited and its subsidiaries.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather financial data and ensure accuracy and completeness of reporting.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in the year-end audit process, providing support and documentation as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification or currently pursing CPA certification
• 2+ years of experience in financial reporting, preferably in a corporate setting or public accounting firm.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
