Your primary responsibilities will include:

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join the growing team in our Emerald Park office. Responsibilities will include typical public accounting duties, such as: preparation of accounting records, financial statements, personal and corporate tax returns, journal entries and adjustments, participation in audits, and completing other duties as assigned. Opportunities to collaborate with peers and management on file planning and completion, client advising, and improvement initiatives.

A successful candidate will have:
  • Completion of post-secondary education in Accounting (Diploma or Degree)
  • At least 1 year of Canadian public practice experience is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft O365, QuickBooks Online, Taxprep, and Caseware is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Ability to exercise logic and sound judgement regarding confidential and sensitive matters
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment and meeting client expectations
