Job description

Fortinet has an exciting opportunity for an experienced SRE Specialist to join our FortiGuard operation team. We are managing the consumer-facing services with high traffic volumes around the world. Service Reliability and Security is our top priority. This is a unique opportunity to join an established team of experienced professionals to work on some of the most innovative technology and network security products on the market.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop and administration of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools/systems to automate deployments, management of operating systems, and applications.
2. Design and deployment of global OpenStack and Kubernetes cluster, including measures for securing and protecting application and data in the cluster.
3. Linux Server Administration (Ubuntu/Red Hat/CentOS).
4. Network Administration (Switch/Router/Firewall).
5. Server, VM, application and network key performance metrics monitoring.
6. Identify, document and track software defects found during testing.
7. Develop, maintain and execute tools and scripts to provide automation and self-service solutions.
8. Troubleshooting and resolution of security appliances, servers, storage, Kubernetes and network issues.

Job Experience Required:

1. 5+ years of practical administration experience in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) as a server platform. Required experience with Linux operation system itself as well as with production level software and hardware.
2. 5+ years of practical administration experience in virtualized environments.
3. Experience with automation tools (Ansible/Terraform).
4. Knowledge of monitoring network/server system: Zabbix, Cacti, etc.
5. Knowledge of observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.
6. Knowledge of industry-standard protocols (TCP/IP, Apache, DNS, LDAP, etc.).
7. Knowledge of deployment automation in physical and virtual environments.
8. Knowledge in at least one scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl etc.).
9. Highly organized, able to multi-task, the ability to work individually, within a team and with other groups.
10. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written across all user levels.
11. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Bonus Experience:

1. Knowledge of OpenStack and Kubernetes is a plus.
2. Knowledge of CI/CD platforms and DevOps tools.
3. Knowledge of Software Defined Storage and Network.

Educational Requirement:

1. A degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or related field.
2. Certification for CCIE and RHCE would be a bonus.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $85,400 - $115,500 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
