We are seeking a highly experienced Deployment Specialist with PHP skills to join our team. This role is not just about managing deployments—it's about being the chef in the kitchen who ensures that everything runs smoothly, from the staging servers to the production environment. You'll be the linchpin that drives our deployment processes forward, coordinating across teams and making crucial decisions to keep our projects on track.

What you’ll be doing :

• Oversee and manage the entire deployment pipeline, using GitLab CI / CD to ensure smooth transitions from development to production across over 80 staging servers.
• Organize and prioritize the deployment queue, ensuring that packages at various stages are appropriately managed and moved forward in alignment with project timelines.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality, ensuring that all deployments are reliable and efficient.
• Act as the first responder during deployment-related emergencies, swiftly diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
• Facilitate clear and effective communication between development teams to drive fixed versions and ensure alignment across all project stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to enhance our deployment processes and implement best practices to optimize the pipeline.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of deployment processes, best practices, and emergency procedures to ensure that the team is always prepared.

What you’ll need to be successful :

Must haves :

• At least 5 years of experience as a PHP developer and 2 years of experience with pipeline deployments.
• Extensive experience in PHP development, with a deep understanding of the language and its best practices.
• Proficient in GitLab CI / CD, with hands-on experience managing complex deployment pipelines.
• Experienced in using Jira for project management and issue tracking, with the ability to coordinate between different teams effectively.
• Proven ability to take charge of deployment processes, coordinate teams, and make critical decisions under pressure.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve deployment issues quickly and effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, with a keen eye for detail and a focus on results.

Nice to haves :

• Familiarity with managing deployments across a large number of staging servers and environments
• Experience working with Grafana
• Experience acting as the first responder in high-pressure situations, with a track record of minimizing downtime during crises.
• A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements in deployment processes.
