Job summary

FedEx Group is seeking an interview-position Fleet Technician to provide timely maintenance for our vehicle fleet and ground support equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems, while documenting work and ensuring safety practices.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, an Automotive Service Technician or Truck/Coach certification, and a valid G license with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Coach Technician certification/license.
  • Must possess a valid G license and have a good driving record.
  • Three (3) years of fleet experience.
  • Fleet maintenance experience an asset.
  • Electronic troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of use and operation of all automotive diagnostic testing equipment, gauges and tools associated with trouble shooting and repairs of gasoline, diesel and hydraulic powered equipment.
  • Must have basic knowledge of welding and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components up to 70 Ibs.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components above 70 Ibs with the help of appropriate lifting mechanical assistance.
  • Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word – Basic - Preferred.
  • Inter/intranet applications – Basic.
  • Diagnostic Software - JPRO® Professional Heavy Duty Software, Allison DOC® Fleets (1K/2K & 3K/4K), Cummins Insite Professional, Ford IDS w/VCM-2 Rotunda, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link, Mercedes, C - (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, quality maintenance for FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and documentation.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and handheld tools for gasoline, diesel and hydraulic systems.
  • Follow safety procedures and use lifting equipment for components up to 70 lbs (and with assist for heavier items).

Job description

This is an interview position. Provides timely, quality, cost effective maintenance for Federal Express vehicle fleet and ground support equipment which requires preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications and documentation.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent


Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Coach Technician certification/license


Must possess a valid G license and have a good driving record


Three (3) years of fleet experience


Fleet maintenance experience an asset

Must own a complete set of automotive or truck hand tools including metric sizes and storage cabinets for same
