Job summary

FedEx Group in Mirabel, Quebec seeks an experienced fleet maintenance technician to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and documentation for the FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment. The role requires knowledge of diagnostic tools, safety procedures, and the ability to lift heavy components.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, automotive technician certifications, and a valid provincial driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Fleet maintenance experience and ability to troubleshoot field vehicle fleet and ground support equipment.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record.
  • Experience with diagnostic testing equipment and heavy equipment safety procedures.
  • Welding knowledge and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on fleet and ground support equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using diagnostic software and tools.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service actions.
  • Operate safely, lifting heavy components as required.

This is an interview position.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides timely, quality, cost effective maintenance for Federal Express vehicle fleet and ground support equipment which requires preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications and documentation.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Coach Technician accreditations/certifications/licenses preferred
  • Valid Provincial Driver’s License
  • Seven (7) years fleet experience
  • Microsoft Word – Basic
  • Basic electronic troubleshooting skills
  • Must have working knowledge of use and operation of all automotive diagnostic testing equipment, gauges and tools associated with trouble shooting and repairs of gasoline, diesel and hydraulic powered equipment
  • Must have basic knowledge of welding and Safety procedures
  • Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs & manoeuvre any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • Must own a complete set of automotive or truck hand tools including metric sizes and storage cabinets for same
  • GRADE: 85
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Repairs, modifies and performs preventative maintenance inspections; troubleshoots for field vehicle fleet and ground support equipment service of G.S.E. and heavy equipment in shop and outdoor environments
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Coach Technician certification/license
  • Must possess a valid G license and have a good driving record
  • Three (3) years of fleet experience
  • Fleet maintenance experience an asset
  • Electronic troubleshooting skills
  • Must have working knowledge of use and operation of all automotive diagnostic testing equipment, gauges and tools associated with trouble shooting and repairs of gasoline, diesel and hydraulic powered equipment
  • Must have basic knowledge of welding and safety procedures
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components up to 70 Ibs
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components above 70 Ibs with the help of appropriate lifting mechanical assistance
  • Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word – Basic - Preferred
  • Inter/intranet applications – Basic
  • Diagnostic Software - JPRO® Professional Heavy Duty Software, Allison DOC® Fleets (1K/2K & 3K/4K), Cummins Insite Professional, Ford IDS w/VCM-2 Rotunda, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link, Mercedes, C - (Preferred)
  • For Ramp positions, successful placement in the position is contingent on the applicant passing the Transport Canada, RCMP, and CSIS assessment, which is based on five (5) years verifiable background information. Must own a complete set of automotive or truck hand tools including metric sizes and storage cabinets for same
