Job description

Provides timely, quality, cost-effective maintenance for Federal Express vehicle fleet and ground support equipment, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and documentation.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Repairs, modifies, and performs preventative maintenance inspections; troubleshoots for field vehicle fleet and ground support equipment service of G.S.E. and heavy equipment in shop and outdoor environments.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Coach Technician certification/license.
  • Must possess a valid G license and have a good driving record.
  • Three (3) years of fleet experience.
  • Fleet maintenance experience is an asset.
  • Electronic troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of automotive diagnostic testing equipment, gauges, and tools for troubleshooting and repairs of gasoline, diesel, and hydraulic-powered equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of welding and safety procedures.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver vehicle components up to 70 lbs; heavier components with mechanical assistance.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and intranet applications.
  • Experience with diagnostic software such as JPRO, Allison DOC, Cummins Insite, Ford IDS w/ VCM-2, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link, Mercedes, C (Preferred).
  • For Ramp positions: successful completion of Transport Canada, RCMP, and CSIS assessments based on five years of verifiable background; ownership of a complete set of automotive or truck hand tools and storage cabinets.
