Your Impact
To participate as an active and valuable member of the Variable Compensation team in the accurate calculation, preparation and communication of variable compensation/performance results for worldwide business units. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Variable Compensation, this person will be responsible for performing complex variable compensation calculations and processing of accruals and analysis and reconciliation of variable compensation accounts. The Variable Compensation Analyst may also be called upon to work on special projects throughout the year.
What The Role Offers
- Performs various complex calculations for variable compensation payments to sales and/or other qualifying personnel based on plan provisions.
- Resolve escalated issues on payment reports, and takes corrective actions to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments as outlined in the plans.
- Participates in the calculation and preparation of month end accruals, prepares journal entries for posting, reconciles balance sheet accounts and investigates & resolves any issues.
- Resolves reconciliation issues using multiple systems. Typically maintains or audits information needed to track revenue related results.
- Follows up on any queries from plan participants - investigation, analysis, resolution & communication for internal and external customers.
- Designs and provides training sessions as required for variable compensation plan participants regarding commission/incentive plan components, payment calculations and how the plan(s) work.
- Support special projects, including acquisitions, as required.
- Contributes to the ongoing improvement of department processes and customer service
What You Need To Succeed
- Ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors and peers.
- Demonstrated ability to present ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, and to identify relevant issues in solving business problems.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required; experience with Xactly and Xactly Analytics and Tableau also an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or another related quantitative discipline. Advanced degree desirable.
- 1-2 years of experience in Compensation preferred, financial analysis or similar role
