Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Senior Valuation Associate to prepare market value appraisals and consulting reports for real estate assets. You will conduct research on market sales, leases, and developments, maintain databases, and participate in site inspections to stay current with local trends.

The role requires up to 3+ years of experience, CMA/IAC member status, and strong MS Office skills. You will work within CBRE’s standardized procedures to deliver analytical, well-supported reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with up to 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
• Familiarity with cashflows and Argus Enterprise.
• Ability to apply standard procedures to solve common problems.
• Experience analyzing information and making judgments.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial calculations.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license.

About The Role

As a CBRE Senior Valuation Associate, you will be responsible for preparing market value appraisals and consulting reports on real estate assets.

What You'll Do

• Conduct extensive research and appraisal support tasks such as preparing analysis on relevant market sales and lease transactions.
• Conduct research and collect data from both internal databases and third-party sources with respect to market rental rates, market sales and lease transactions, development applications and general market knowledge.
• Maintenance of internal database systems.
• Conduct interviews with market participants to stay appraised on current trends and developments in the local marketplace.
• Prepare written market value reports with substantial analytical guidance from a senior appraiser.
• Perform property inspections (including the occasional out-of-town assignment).
• Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
• Impact the quality of own work.
• Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
• Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with up to 3+ years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada
• Familiarity with cashflows and/or Argus Enterprise.
• Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
• Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
• Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
• Valid class 5 drivers' license with a reliable mode of transportation.
