Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr UX/UI Designer based in Canada .

We are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to shape and elevate the player experience of a popular, large-scale social gaming platform. In this role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end user experience, making complex interfaces intuitive, accessible, and engaging for millions of players. You will audit existing interfaces, map player journeys, and use analytics, research, and community feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. Working closely with product, game design, art, and engineering teams, you will transform insights into thoughtful user flows, polished interfaces, and reusable design components. As the first dedicated UX/UI designer on the project, you will establish foundational design standards and help define the long-term direction of the product experience. This remote contract opportunity is ideal for a designer who combines strong visual craft with strategic thinking and a passion for player-centered design.

Accountabilities
  • Own the end-to-end user experience and interface design, from onboarding and first-time interactions to long-term player engagement.

  • Audit existing interfaces and map key player journeys to identify usability issues, navigation challenges, friction points, and opportunities to improve retention.

  • Analyze player behavior data, community feedback, competitive research, and playtesting results to identify and prioritize high-impact UX improvements in collaboration with product leadership.

  • Define information architecture, navigation structures, and player flows that make features and game systems easier to discover and use.

  • Create wireframes, annotated user flows, and interactive prototypes that clearly communicate design decisions and support implementation.

  • Design high-fidelity interfaces and reusable UI components, establishing consistent rules for layout, visual hierarchy, typography, iconography, and interaction states.

  • Collaborate with art and engineering teams to refine visual direction and ensure the implemented experience aligns with the intended design.

  • Measure the impact of design changes through analytics and other feedback mechanisms, iterating on solutions based on real-world performance.

  • Establish and maintain UX/UI standards, documentation, and component guidelines to support consistency and scalability as new features are developed.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to balance player needs, product goals, technical constraints, and delivery timelines.

Requirements:
  • At least three years of experience as a UX/UI Designer or Product Designer, with demonstrated ownership of both user experience and interface design for shipped products in gaming or consumer mobile applications.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing the complete design process, including research, information architecture, player journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and polished high-fidelity interfaces.

  • Experience designing mobile-first experiences, with a strong understanding of touch interactions, tap target sizing, thumb reach, and usability on small screens.

  • Strong information architecture skills and the ability to organize complex products into intuitive, easy-to-navigate structures.

  • Excellent visual design capabilities, including layout, typography, iconography, visual hierarchy, and reusable component design.

  • Experience using analytics, user research, community feedback, and behavioral insights to inform design decisions and prioritize improvements.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside product managers, game designers, artists, and engineers.

  • Ability to manage design projects independently, make informed decisions, and translate ambiguous problems into practical design solutions.

  • Availability to work collaboratively with teams across Eastern and Pacific time zones, with a preference for Pacific Time alignment.

  • Experience in gaming, particularly live-service or free-to-play mobile games, is a plus.

  • Experience improving or redesigning an existing interface within a live product while maintaining ongoing feature delivery is desirable.

  • Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, and hands-on user research methods such as usability testing, playtesting, and surveys is an advantage.

  • Experience with advanced prototyping tools beyond Figma, such as ProtoPie or in-engine prototyping, is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with Roblox experiences, Roblox-native UI conventions, or Roblox Studio is a strong plus.

  • An interest in roleplay and social gaming experiences is highly valued.

Benefits:
  • Contract opportunity: Initial six-month contract, with the potential for extension or transition to a full-time position.

  • Remote work: Remote-first working environment, with the flexibility to work from Brazil.

  • Competitive compensation: Compensation aligned with the company's regional pay structure; the published Europe and rest-of-world annual compensation benchmark is €113,750, but the specific Brazil rate should be confirmed during the hiring process.

  • Potential financial incentives: Permanent employees may receive profit sharing and stock options; eligibility for contract team members should be confirmed.

  • Retirement and healthcare benefits: Retirement contributions and medical, dental, and vision coverage are available to eligible permanent employees in certain countries; availability in Brazil and for contractors is not specified.

  • Professional development: Eligible permanent employees can receive reimbursement for courses, learning materials, and other professional development expenses.

  • Team engagement: Opportunities for in-person gatherings, virtual company-wide gaming events, and other team activities, subject to role and contract eligibility.

  • Gaming-related perks: Robux allowances and additional benefits may be available to eligible employees, subject to the applicable employment arrangement.

  • Creative ownership: The opportunity to establish UX/UI foundations for a major gaming experience and directly influence how millions of players interact with the product.

  • Collaborative environment: Work alongside multidisciplinary teams in a remote-first organization that values ownership, inclusion, and professional growth.
