About Farnsworth Group

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr. Transportation Engineer in our Nashville, TN office. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Project Manager to hone management skills while impacting an already established, growing organization.

Job Activities:
  1. Serve as project manager with autonomy for project-related tasks and as a designated client contact, potentially managing multiple projects.
  2. Manage project schedules and ensure timely completion of projects.
  3. Assist in estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
  4. Prepare engineering agreements for projects.
  5. Provide street and highway design engineering analysis and computations.
  6. Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, studies, permits, and designs for various projects.
  7. Delegate and supervise the work of other engineers.
  8. Participate in business development efforts, attend client meetings, and support project presentations.
Specific Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Traffic Engineering from an accredited program.
  • 10-15 years of transportation or traffic engineering experience.
  • Experience with TDOT or local TN projects is required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Ability to collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, Clients, and Administrators.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, ORD, and Geopak preferred.
