Sr. Specialized IT Consultant

Position: Specialized IT Consultant

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 130 Days Contract + Possible Extension

Responsibilities:

1. Works in partnership with internal customers, advising them on information technology in order to meet their business objectives or overcome problems.
2. Defines data strategy and provides guidance to improve structure and efficiency of I&IT systems.
3. Provides subject matter expertise in the field of Information Management & IT technology, in particular, data lake house, pipelines, and analytics.

General Skills:

1. Acts as the technical advisor/expert on all aspects of data strategy.
2. Develops processes and procedures for implementing data strategy, integration, and ingestion.
3. Ensures data architecture and pipelines are built based on standard technology and follow approved patterns, ensuring high quality, reliability, and performance.
4. Anticipates and resolves problems to ensure that the deliverables are completed within budget, to the highest quality, meeting or exceeding expectations.
5. Works with internal clients to define the requirements for data and integrations.
6. Prepares reports and presentations including options, recommendations, implementation plans, etc.
7. Familiar with change-management principles and methodology.
8. Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
9. Continuous improvement mindset.

Must Have Requirements:

1. 5+ years leading teams implementing data pipelines and integrations.
2. 5+ years of experience developing processes and procedures for implementing data strategy, integration, and ingestion.
3. Solid knowledge of modern data analytics and technologies (i.e. Microsoft Azure Datalake, Databricks, etc.).
