The Senior Software Engineering Manager plays a critical role in delivering and scaling digital experiences that measurably boost guest engagement, drive revenue growth, and strengthen Tim Hortons' digital brand presence. This position will significantly impact how millions of guests interact with our brand digitally, ensuring we deliver engaging, highly reliable, and scalable solutions.

Role & Responsibilities :

• Lead, grow, and scale engineering squads within the Engagement domain, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software aligned with strategic business objectives.
• Develop and execute a robust technical strategy and roadmap focused on user engagement, system scalability, and reliability.
• Establish and track performance metrics, achieving targets such as increased digital engagement and maintaining system reliability at uptime or greater.
• Mentor, coach, and develop team leads and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Marketing teams to optimize digital engagement strategies, streamline workflows, and enhance user experiences.
• Champion architectural best practices, promote consistency through RFCs, ADRs, and collaborative technical reviews.
• Lead incident management and operational excellence initiatives, significantly reducing downtime and improving incident prevention.

Qualifications & Skills :

• Experience managing AWS Infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB): building scalable, performant serverless solutions.
• Proficiency with GraphQL (Apollo Federation): designing efficient federated APIs.
• Strong skills in TypeScript & React Native: developing high-performance mobile applications for millions of users.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform: automating software delivery reliably and rapidly.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Microservices, and Serverless architecture: creating maintainable, scalable systems.
• Familiarity with Datadog for system monitoring, observability, and incident response.
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban): delivering iteratively and adaptively.
• Willingness or experience working with AI-driven development tools.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record partnering with Product, Design, and Marketing teams.
• Proven mentorship, coaching, and talent development capabilities.
• Ownership-oriented leadership style, focused on delivering measurable outcomes.
• Strategic decision-making driven by data and business impact.
• Experience influencing and communicating effectively with executive stakeholders.
• Background managing digital platforms within the quick-service restaurant, retail, or consumer-facing industries.
• Proven experience with high-transaction volume, large-scale systems.
• Familiarity with content management systems like Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar platforms.
• Experience in digital customer engagement, loyalty programs, or personalization strategies.
• Leadership experience managing hybrid engineering teams.
