The Senior Software Engineering Manager will play a key role in delivering and scaling digital experiences that enhance guest engagement, drive revenue, and strengthen Tim Hortons' digital presence. This role will impact how millions of guests interact with the brand digitally, ensuring the delivery of engaging, reliable, and scalable solutions.

Role & Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, grow, and scale engineering squads within the Engagement domain, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software aligned with business objectives.
  2. Develop and execute a technical strategy focused on user engagement, system scalability, and reliability.
  3. Establish and monitor performance metrics, aiming for increased digital engagement and system uptime of 99.9% or higher.
  4. Mentor and develop team leads and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  5. Collaborate with Product, Design, and Marketing teams to optimize digital engagement and user experience.
  6. Promote architectural best practices, consistency through RFCs, ADRs, and technical reviews.
  7. Lead incident management and operational initiatives to reduce downtime and improve incident response.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience with AWS Infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB) for scalable serverless solutions.
  • Knowledge of GraphQL (Apollo Federation) for efficient API design.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript & React Native for mobile app development.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Terraform for automation.
  • Understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Microservices, Serverless architecture.
  • Experience with Datadog for monitoring and incident response.
  • Agile experience (Scrum, Kanban) for iterative delivery.
  • Willingness to work with AI-driven development tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven mentorship and leadership abilities.
  • Ownership-oriented leadership style with a focus on outcomes.
  • Strategic decision-making based on data and impact.
  • Experience engaging with executive stakeholders.
  • Background in digital platforms within QSR, retail, or consumer industries.
  • Experience with high-transaction volume systems.
  • Familiarity with content management systems like Adobe Experience Manager or similar.
  • Background in digital engagement, loyalty, or personalization strategies.
  • Experience leading hybrid engineering teams.
