THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a specialized software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical guidance based on product specifications and HW core IP’s
  • Define project milestone deliverables for each development phase
  • Design and implement Multimedia functionality to support new HW, SW or OS specifications
  • Reproduce, debug and resolve firmware/driver/application issues with specific hardware and software contexts
  • Design and develop test applications and quality assurance programs

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Extensive Multimedia (video codecs, color formats, video algorithms) experience
  • Video CODEC decode/encode, HEVC, H.264, AV1, MPEG4, VP9, SVC
  • Working knowledge of encoder rate-control
  • Video processing and enhancement algorithms
  • Object Oriented Programming knowledge and skills
  • Embedded Programming knowledge and skills
  • Experience with x86 / ARM CPU architecture and System-On-Chip bring-up
  • Kernel Mode Debugging skills, experience with WinDbg, SoftICE, etc.
  • Solving problems, ability to triage and root cause issue
  • Familiar with Perforce, Github, Jira
  • Familiar with visual studio tools

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
