Job summary

OpenText, The Information Company, is seeking a Sr Software Developer in Canada to lead cross-functional teams and deliver cutting-edge Information Management solutions that power sustainable supply chains and digital transformation.

You will work across frontend and backend technologies, contribute to architecture decisions, and mentor teammates while delivering value beyond the immediate team.

Qualifications

• Full-stack web development experience across frontend and backend.
• Proficiency with HTML, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Java, .NET, PHP, Python or Ruby and databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-team initiatives spanning diverse domains and deliver value beyond the team.
• Set quality standards for code and software designs and mentor teammates.
• Drive architectural decisions and align with client needs and business goals.
• Mentor juniors and raise overall team capability.

What The Role Offers

As a Sr Software Developer, you will:

• Provide strong leadership for the team, wielding technical and business influence beyond team boundaries.
• Drive multi-team initiatives spanning diverse domains, consistently delivering value that extends beyond the immediate team.
• Quickly grasp the business context to enhance client value significantly.
• Make timely decisions, prioritizing client trust over expediency, and leverage input to determine optimal technical solutions.
• Identify and course-correct when the current path does not meaningfully serve client needs, playing a key role in setting longer-term business strategy.
• Lead in setting the quality standards for the team's technical work, from code to software designs, while raising the skill level of less experienced team members.
• Possess 8-12 years of previous professional experience.

Compensation

At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we’re happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range

$86,800.00 - $130,200.00; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
