Job description

This is an interview position.

Through partnership with assigned business locations, the Sr. Safety Specialist takes all necessary steps to ensure the safety of company personnel and assets, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements in support of our people-service-profit philosophy. Responsibilities include:

  1. Occupational health and safety, risk assessment, JHSC, audits, safe driving, dangerous goods, Canada Labour Code Part II, and WHMIS.
  2. Providing leadership and guidance to junior staff and education to managers and employees.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Health, Safety, Environment related field preferred.
  • Professional accreditation (CRSP) preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Workers Compensation, Dangerous Goods, Fire Prevention, Vehicle or Driving safety.
  • Knowledge of building and fire codes is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of government legislation and its application to company safety programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) at a basic level.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime and irregular hours based on operational needs.
  • Willingness to travel within the geographic territory.
  • If residing in Quebec, bilingual in French and English is required.

Additional Details:

This position is posted at two levels: NC450 (Sr. Safety Specialist) and NC449 (Safety Specialist). The offer level depends on the candidate's experience and skills. The job posting ends on 07/14/2025.
