Arcfield Canada is seeking a detail-oriented and highly experienced Senior Quality Specialist to lead and support our quality assurance initiatives. This role is integral to advancing our commitment to excellence by ensuring compliance with internal standards, contractual requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks. The Senior Quality Specialist will play a key role in analyzing quality trends, driving process improvements, conducting quality checks, and supporting audits and risk mitigation strategies across operational functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Quality Systems Management: Maintain and enhance Arcfield Canada’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 / ISO 9001, Technical Airworthiness and other applicable standards.
- Ensure documentation, policies, and procedures are up to date, controlled, and consistently applied across the organization.
- Conduct Advanced Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving: Investigate quality issues using structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, FMEA) and lead the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to eliminate recurrence.
- Internal and External Audits: Plan, lead, and report on quality audits to verify compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and contractual commitments.
- Support and coordinate external audits conducted by customers, certifying bodies, or government agencies.
- Inspect received components for serviceability, associated paperwork for completeness and prepare the customer release documentation. Provide technical inspection and conditioning of components returned to the Canadian Forces Supply Depots.
- •Supplier Quality Oversight: Collaborate with procurement and program teams to assess and monitor supplier performance. Participate in supplier audits, review quality plans, and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in the supply chain.
- •Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop, maintain, and analyze quality metrics, KPIs, and trend reports. Present findings to management and recommend process improvements based on data-driven insights.
- Cross-Functional Quality Integration: Partner with engineering, logistics, production, and program management teams to ensure quality requirements are embedded throughout product and service lifecycles. Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical evaluations as the voice of quality.
- Training and Coaching: Provide mentoring and training to junior quality team members and operational staff to promote a culture of quality awareness, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Customer and Stakeholder Interface: Serve as a point of contact for quality-related inquiries from customers, partners, and regulatory bodies. Represent the quality function during meetings, reviews, and when responding to client concerns or findings.
- Document and Change Control: Ensure control of quality documentation and records. Support engineering and operations in managing document revisions, drawing controls, and configuration management.
- Support Continuous Improvement Projects: Lead or support initiatives that target efficiency gains, defect reduction, and enhanced customer satisfaction.
- Risk and Compliance Monitoring: Proactively identify risks to quality performance and compliance. Recommend mitigation strategies and track execution to ensure ongoing conformity with standards and contractual obligations.
Required:
- Post-secondary education in Quality Management, Engineering, or have related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in quality assurance, preferably in a defence, aerospace, or high-tech environment.
- Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor Certification in ISO 9001 or AS9100 standard(s)
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100, Technical Airworthiness standards.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, FMEA).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with quality management software is an asset.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance at a Secret Level
Preferred:
- Certification in quality (e.g., CQE, CQA, Six Sigma) is considered an asset.
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or equivalent experience working on complex electronics is considered an asset
