Sr. Protection and Control Testing Engineer, Puerto Rico - 3weeks on / 2 off

PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta-based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing / commissioning of medium to high voltage electrical facilities. We focus on providing cost-effective and efficient solutions for power system engineering, involved in projects from preliminary engineering to commissioning and startup.

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Protection and Control Testing Engineer, P&C Technologist / Specialist / Technician to join our full-time team. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, skilled problem-solver, and detail-oriented, ready to face challenges in testing and commissioning processes.

Responsibilities :

• Testing and commissioning power system protection & control schemes in utility, power generation, and oil & gas industries
• Reading and interpreting drawings, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues
• Preparing and submitting reports
• Assisting with generation of commissioning startup procedures or work instructions
• Ensuring compliance with safety practices per standards
• Responding to customer inquiries, discussing issues, and confirming resolutions

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma
• 6+ years experience in Protection and Controls testing within the electrical utilities industry
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and attention to detail skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple issues
• Analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work extended periods out of town
• Valid driver's license with a clean record
• Background checks and drug / alcohol testing required

Additional Information :

• Working hours generally from 7 am to 5 : 30 pm (10 hrs / day)
• Shift hours may vary based on project needs; flexibility required
