Job summary

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Sr. Project Control Specialist in Calgary, Alberta, hybrid work environment, to support a major ERP transformation program with emphasis on cost control, forecasting, and governance.

The role partners with PMO, Finance, vendors, and system integrators, delivering executive dashboards, variance analyses, and audit-ready documentation while coordinating schedule and risk management across a large multi-vendor program.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of project controls experience on large capital, IT, ERP, infrastructure, or transformation programs.
  • Experience supporting multi-year, multi-vendor programs valued at $50M+.
  • Expertise in cost controls, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, EAC, accruals, commitments, and integrated project controls.
  • Strong knowledge of WBS, schedule management, milestones, dependencies, governance, and audit-ready project controls.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Power BI, MS Project, Primavera P6, Azure DevOps, OnePlan, or similar enterprise planning tools.
  • Experience collaborating with PMO, Finance, project managers, vendors, and system integrators; strong stakeholder management and executive reporting.
  • PMP, AACE, PMI-SP or related certification preferred; ERP/Oracle Fusion and Agile/Waterfall or hybrid delivery experience are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated project controls, including cost baselines, budgets, forecasts, WBS, schedules, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Monitor budgets, actuals, commitments, accruals, forecasts, and estimate-at-completion (EAC), analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Consolidate cost, schedule, and delivery data across project teams, vendors, and stakeholders to provide an accurate view of program performance.
  • Prepare executive dashboards, KPI reports, forecast summaries, variance analyses, and project controls reporting to support governance and decision-making.
  • Standardize project controls processes, templates, reporting, and governance to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Partner with project managers, PMO, Finance, vendors, and system integrators to support planning, forecasting, budgeting, and project reporting.
  • Track change impacts, delivery risks, forecast updates, and baseline revisions while maintaining audit-ready documentation and governance records.
  • Validate project controls data, vendor submissions, and reporting for accuracy, completeness, financial integrity, and alignment with program standards.

The role supports Project Fusion, a large-scale ERP transformation program, by strengthening project controls and delivery governance. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Senior Project Controls Specialist partners with the PMO, Finance, Project Management, vendors, and system integrators, focusing on cost control, forecasting, budget management, variance analysis, vendor cost validation, and executive reporting. The role also supports schedule, milestones, dependencies, risk, and change management in a complex, multi-vendor environment.
